Dear Pan-American friends:
Peruvian ophthalmologists and the Peruvian Society of Ophthalmology (SPO) are honored to have been selected to host the prestigious XXXIII Pan American Congress of Ophthalmology, which will take place in the modern city of Lima in August 2017.
Lima is a city with many attractions, its old colonial city, its churches, its balconies, but something that Peruvians are even more proud of is our culinary art. In Lima, you may enjoy one of the greatest pleasures “eating well”.
Peru also has many tourist attractions: The north coast has wonderful beaches with waves for surfers and sunshine all year round. The famous Nazca Lines and the Paracas National Reserve in the south coast; The beautiful city of Arequipa with its majestic Misti volcano and the deepest canyon, “Colca Canyon”, to observe condors; Puno, in the Andean highlands with Lake Titicaca and wonderful folk dances; our amazing Amazon jungle with its national parks; and of course our World Wonder, Cusco and the Machu Picchu ruins.
We are sure that the XXXIII Pan-American Congress of Ophthalmology, Lima 2017 will be a great scientific and fellowship success; let us be your most diligent hosts.
